Welcome to Viva Scoop, your monthly overview of everything Vivacity Technologies. Spring arrived and with it a whole host of uncertainty throughout the financial world as we watched the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. The reverberations are still being felt globally, but as we all know ‘control the controllables’. As such, we’ve been heads down working on a number of internal and external projects, not least those highlighted below. However, so much work goes on behind the scenes including internal cyber security enhancements, developing an Intellectual Property strategy, and kicking off a new 2023 marketing plan. It’s hard to know what to highlight in a given month, but all credit goes to the amazing Viva Team who continue to be awesome, even in the face of some challenging times. So, without further ado, herewith Viva Scoop March!
Data Centre Migration with the City of Pitt Meadows
In March, the Viva Team wrapped up another phenomenal project with the City of Pitt Meadows, namely a Data Centre Mapping and Migration Plan. The four month engagement gave us a thorough understanding of the Pitt Meadows data centre infrastructure, whereby our goal was to propose a primary and secondary data centre migration plan.
We’re delighted to say the Pitt Meadows team were thrilled with our work and now look forward to implementing the new strategy proposed. This data centre project followed closely on the heels of our original engagement with the City of Pitt Meadows, namely a Business Continuity Plan Assessment that was completed last year. We thoroughly enjoy working with the awesome Pitt Meadows IT team, and look forward to future strategic initiatives.
Becoming a Communitech Member
We’re delighted to announce that Vivacity Technologies is now officially a Member of Communitech. Communitech is an Ontario based accelerator/incubator focused on helping Canada's founders start and scale their companies. Some of the many ways in which Communitech helps organizations is through:
Networking and plugging into the startup community;
Identifying and navigating government funding opportunities;
Finding market opportunities and promoting customer successes; and
Developing growth strategies for new products/markets.
Our introduction to Communitech and the team has been great so far, and we’re stoked to see how we can both learn and contribute to the Communitech ecosystem. Feel free to reach out to me, or the Communitech team to learn more.
Implementing an Agile and Scrum Framework
The month of March also brought a refresh to how we manage our projects internally. We noticed many challenges, and realized that we weren’t fully capitalizing on our skill sets, or the ability to quickly adapt to evolving demands. So, over the last several months we’ve been creating an Agile environment using Scrum as our foundation, and we’ve seen massive improvements along the way! Through Stefano’s tireless work, we now have a much better picture of all our ongoing projects and what’s to come in the future. Added to which our team’s ability to help one another and drive things forward has seen huge improvements. Beyond boosting morale and increasing visibility, our productivity has also skyrocketed! It's been great to see how much work our team has been completing day-in day-out. We’re excited to continue evolving our environment over the coming months, and are very happy with the results we’ve seen so far.
